Mayor of Bath launches Bath in Bloom 50th anniversary year with a Civic Reception in Mayors Parlour in the Guildhall Bath.

Morgan-Brinkhurst Consultancy were delighted to assist Barry Cruse and the Bath in Bloom Committee with the launch of their 50th anniversary year. This year there will be many Bath in Bloom celebration events taking place in Bath.

In its 50 year history Bath in Bloom has won Britain in Bloom 13 times and South West in Bloom 16 times and has also received exceptional accolades when representing Great Britain in the Entente Floral Awards in Holland. And this year Bath in Bloom is in the final of the Britain in Bloom Competition.

Barry Cruse MBE said " This year as well as being the 50th Anniversary of Bath in Bloom it is also the 50 Anniversary of the Britain in bloom competition, Bath won the first one back in 1964 and we are determined to try and win it again 50 years on, it wont be easy as our competitors will be trying just as hard to win. We have the backing of BANES council, Businesses, residents and community groups all helping us to put together a very strong entry, it will be a very exciting year for Bath in Bloom. We have also launched sponsorship packages and hope the local business community will get behind us and support the various events and competition categories that are available this year".

The Bath in Bloom committee runs a local competition every year and the competition is open to all residents, businesses, schools, institutions or community groups within the boundary of Bath & North East Somerset. In 2014 there are 23 categories for people/groups/businesses to enter.

Bath in Bloom is a competition to encourage the community to take a pride in Bath & North East Somerset, making it attractive with flowers, landscaping or an environmental project. It is organised by the Bath in Bloom committee, working in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council.
