|St Johns Jubilee Celebration Dinner held in the Pump Rooms, Bath.|
St Johns the Evangelist Church in Bath celebrated its 150th Anniversary recently in Baths Historic Pump Rooms. The evening began with a drinks reception around the Roman Baths sponsored by Stone King Solicitors. 180 guests enjoyed the reception followed by a delicious 3 course dinner in the Pump Rooms. Guest speaker was Abbot Aidan Bellenger from Downside Abbey.
Canon David Ryan Parish Priest at St Johns said 150 years ago, after St Johns was consecrated the parishioners at that time celebrated by enjoying supper in the Pump Rooms. We are delighted that 150 years later we followed in their footsteps by holding our 150th celebration dinner in the Pump Rooms.
Special guests who attended
the dinner included the Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Cllr. Neil Butters and
his consort Mrs. Charlotte Butters, Mrs. Jennifer Skellett, the Rector of Bath Abbey
Revd Edward Mason, Mr. Graham Plumb (Gen Manager of Searcys) and Dr Jo Farrer (Chief
Executive of Bath & NES Council)
St Johns have held
several special events during its Jubilee year and money raised by the Jubilee
Committee during 2013 will be used to purchase a Commemorative Jubilee gift which will be
presented to St Johns and installed in the Church.
St Johns Jubilee Committee would also like to thank the Bath Chronicle, Bath Life and Somerset Life for their wonderful press support throughout our Jubilee year.
